Hi,

I am pleased to announce the publication of our book "An Introduction to TTCN-
3", by Colin Willcock, Thomas Deiss, Stefan Keil, Federico Engler, Stephan
Schulz, and Stephan Tobies.

Of course, being an co-author of this book, I cannot really praise it to the
extent that it deserves ;-). So I will leave the marketing mumbo-jumbo to the
publisher:

will also find the table of contents and can order the book.

As far as I know, Wiley will have a stand at the TTCN-3 user conference.

It has been published Friday last week. You can order it at Wiley Europe today.
US publication seems to be planned for June, at least that's what = the
information at amazon.com says.

Will the authors be signing the books at the stand? :) With the price tag of
$99.95 at amazon.com the book better be really good. If you send me an
evaluation copy of the book, I will write some very positive feedback on it at
Amazon to increase its sales to top ten ;)

Just a quick comment: you probably do not want to buy the book at = amazon.com
because there it will be only available in June. So, if you = want to get your
finger on this book while it is still warm from the = press, rather order it at
Wiley directly.

Can you give us some brief introductions about those authors ? :-)
Like the working experience about TTCN-3, background, or who is
the TTCN-3 standard author, and so on. To my surprise, Microsoft
guys also paid their attention on the TTCN-3. What kind of field did
you use the TTCN-3 for ?

I'm a software engineer who worked in ITRI, Taiwan. We used the TTCN-2
to do some telecommunication protocol comformance testings. And we
start focusing on the TTCN-3 in the IEEE 802.16 certification now.

All of the authors are or have been working for Nokia Research - thus = our
application area has mostly been telecoms. All of the authors have = been
involved in the standardisation of the language or the development = of the
Telelogic Tau/Tester tool, and we have used TTCN-3 in quite a = number of
industrial-scale test system development efforts.

During the time of writing the book, I have been working for Nokia = research,
and I have only recently changed to Microsoft. Currently, my = work here does
not involve TTCN-3, although that may change in the = future.

I am glad to hear that. From our experience, switching from TTCN-2 to = TTCN-3,
although it has ist pitfalls, brings great benefits.
